Our History

Ten Years of Building Futures

2015

In 2015, a young community leader named Tim Behling had a simple vision: to help students dream bigger and do better. What began as an idea shared among a few mentors in Aiken County soon became something much larger — a movement to guide youth toward purpose through mentorship, leadership, and exposure.

That same year, Successteam hosted its first Back-to-School Bookbag Drive, putting supplies directly into students’ hands and hope into their hearts. It was small but powerful — a glimpse of what was possible when the community came together for its youth.

By 2018, Successteam took a bold step forward with its first multi-day overnight Leadership Academy — then called Big Brother: A Fellowship of Young Men Looking to Become Real Men. It was more than a camp; it was a transformational space where young men learned discipline, responsibility, and confidence.

2019

The next year, 2019, marked the launch of the Night of Champions Gala, a celebration of student achievement and community partnership. What started as an experiment became a signature event — a night where families, leaders, and students gathered to honor growth and give thanks.
In 2020, Successteam celebrated five years of impact, reflecting on hundreds of students mentored and countless hours of service. That reflection sparked a new question: How can we reach even more youth?

2020

2021

The answer came in 2021, when Successteam expanded its programming to include all genders — reaffirming that leadership has no boundaries.

The following year, 2022, saw the launch of the Leadership Academy for Young Women, designed to build confidence, communication, and sisterhood among the next generation of leaders.

2022

2024

By 2024, Successteam’s growth and experience converged into a clear focus: the Successteam Youth Council. It became the organization’s flagship program a structured, year-round pathway guiding high-school students from ambition to action.
And in 2025, Successteam reached a milestone, ten years of impact. A decade of mentorship, leadership, and service. A decade of showing that community and opportunity can change lives. That same year, Successteam launched its second chapter in Columbia, South Carolina, extending its reach and reaffirming its promise: every student deserves a chance to succeed.

2025

From one idea to a decade of influence, Successteam’s story is still being written by every student who dares to dream, every parent who believes, and every mentor who gives their time so that others may grow.
